Climate Change, Incapacity Benefits, RisksAbstract
This article aims to analyze the correlation between legal protection against the environmental risk of climate change and protection against the social security risk of disability, identifying whether the former impacts the latter, in what way, what protections already exist, and what is the best way to ensure the effectiveness of both protections. Given the known impacts on human health due to the increase in global temperatures, the article starts from the hypothesis that the first risk does indeed impact the second, which was confirmed by qualitative and bibliographic research, as well as by exposure and investigation based on the Cartesian deductive method. In addition, it has been shown that joint efforts by society and the state are necessary to protect against both the first and second risks.
